January 7, 2022

Dear Families and Advocates,

We are excited to announce that we will be welcoming back our Designated Visitors on January 10, 2022. Just a reminder there is one designated visitor per family. If you would like to change your designated visitor prior to the start date, please ensure that you provide us with the updated information before coming to the Lodge.

Please call in to the front desk to book your visit. We would like to remind you that there are limited spots and many families to accommodate. We will continue to have the restricted times to ensure our residents are able to enjoy their meals. This will leave us with 14 visits a day totaling 98 visits a week which will accommodate almost everyone. We will be booking one week at a time to start and then begin booking a week ahead.

At this time ALL DESIGNATED VISITORS will need to be rapid tested. Please ensure that you are prepared for a waiting period of approximately 30 minutes. We will continue to ask the screening questions and take your personal information.

Visitors undergoing a rapid POC screening process can expect the following:

  • Individuals who receive a positive test result will be directed to self-isolate. Please visit the guidance online at Rapid Antigen Testing for COVID-19 ( Operators are required to report all positive test results to public health.

  • Individuals who receive an inconclusive test result will be required to undergo another rapid POC test.

  • There are no exceptions to the rapid POC screening requirement based on medical exemption from vaccination, essential visitor status, including compassionate visits related to end-of-life.

Additional information regarding visitation, including rapid POC screening and proof of vaccination requirements in long-term care can be found through the BC Centre for Disease Control – Long-Term Care and Assisted Living and the Rapid COVID-19 Point-of-Care Testing in BC information sheet.

Thank you for continuing to take the necessary steps to support residents and staff to stay safe during these challenging times. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to email me, Margareta Stavridis, Administrator, at or Doreen Buksh-Khan, Assistant Administrator, with any questions or concerns.
